Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Strive is an AI-powered fitness, nutrition, calorie and macro tracking, and physique-progress app, operated by Caleb Thorburn. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We only collect information where the app actually needs it to provide its features.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information — your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
  • Fitness and profile information you provide — such as age, sex, height, weight and weight history, fitness goals, target weight and date, activity level, training days and experience, equipment, diet preferences, allergies, calorie and macro targets, workouts and the weights you log.
  • Nutrition and food logs — meals, foods and water you record, and meal plans you generate.
  • Progress photos and physique information — photos you upload for Physique Analysis, Future Physique or the Share Your Transformation card, and the results produced from them.
  • Content you create — AI Coach conversations, saved plans, community/leaderboard profile details, club chat messages and the content you report.
  • Subscription status — whether you have Strive+ and its billing status. We do not receive or store your card details.
  • Technical information — basic log and error data (such as device/browser type and IP address) needed to operate, secure and fix the service.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide and personalise Strive's fitness and nutrition features.
  • Calculate your calories, macros and progress.
  • Provide AI-powered physique analysis and related plans.
  • Provide the AI Future Physique feature for Strive+ members.
  • Create and maintain your account and subscription.
  • Improve, maintain and secure the service.
  • Respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.

4. AI Features

You may choose to submit information or images to Strive's AI features (AI Coach, workout and meal plan generation, Physique Analysis and Future Physique). This information is sent to OpenAI solely to produce the result you requested, and the result is saved to your account. Using these features is optional. AI output is general fitness and nutrition guidance, not medical advice.

5. Data Sharing

We share information only with service providers needed to run Strive:

  • Supabase — database and authentication (data stored in Japan, region ap-northeast-1).
  • Cloudflare — hosting of the Strive website and the servers the app talks to.
  • OpenAI — processes requests to Strive's AI features.
  • Open Food Facts — looks up a product when you scan or enter a barcode (only the barcode is sent).
  • Apple and RevenueCat — in the iOS app, Apple processes Strive+ purchases and RevenueCat manages the subscription status linked to your account ID. We never receive your payment details.
  • Paddle.com — on the website, our Merchant of Record, which processes Strive+ payments, subscriptions, invoicing and tax under its own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts — serves the typeface the app displays, which involves your device contacting Google.

We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account, profile, logs, photos and AI results while your account is active, or until you delete them. When you delete your account, your data is removed from our live database immediately; copies in our providers' encrypted backups expire on their regular schedule. Records that Apple, RevenueCat or Paddle must keep for legal, tax or dispute purposes are held by them under their own policies.

7. Account and Data Deletion

You can delete your account at any time in the app: More → Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your profile, logs, plans, photos, analyses, community activity and any clubs you own. If you cannot access the app, email strive.futureai@gmail.com from the address linked to your account. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID subscription settings. A web subscription must be cancelled on the Billing page first.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and database access controls so users can only access their own records. No method of internet transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Strive is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or otherwise control your personal information. You can update much of your information in the app's Settings, or contact us at strive.futureai@gmail.com.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
